Facebook and Google join hands; Images on Facebook go directly to Google Photos

Facebook has introduced a new system where users can upload pictures directly to Google Photos. The system is part of a data transfer project with leading tech companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft and Twitter.

As the name implies, the plan is to facilitate the exchange of information between these services. Facebook has announced a new tool that lets users upload videos and pictures to Google Photos. The facility has been made available in Ireland experimentally.

According to Facebook, this type of information exchange will eventually spread to services like WhatsApp and Instagram. This new tool will be rolled out globally next year. With this new tool, Facebook aims to make an open-source, service-to-service information portability platform that creates it straightforward for secure and direct information transfers from one service to a different. Facebook also wants to make it easier for users who use these services to transfer their data from one to another.
